Cliff Mak is Assistant Professor of English at Queens College, CUNY. He is currently completing his first book on modernist instinct and stylistic virtuosity. He has published articles in ELH, Modernist Cultures, and elsewhere on slapstick queerness in Marianne Moore, animal boredom in James Joyce, and the cartoons of Chuck Jones.
