Nolan Gear is an educator and film scholar living in Brooklyn. He studies the relays between early cinema and modernist writing, with particular focus on women's moviegoing cultures of the late 1920s. Most recently, Gear served as Core Lecturer in Literature Humanities at Columbia University, where he earned his PhD. He can be contacted at ngear@saintannsny.org.
