John Marx is Chair of the English Department at the University of California, Davis. He is an Associate Editor of the journal Novel: A Forum on Fiction and the author of numerous articles and two books, most recently Geopolitics and the Anglophone Novel, 1890-2011 (Cambridge University Press, 2012).
